Early Enrollment Membership offers eligible potential members the ability to access the benefits of union membership at no cost to them, excluding legal access.
It’s been an unprecedented year for us and our students, and we’ve worked incredibly hard to rise to the many challenges our schools have faced.
However, this pandemic has shown a light on how important it is for us to stick together and to have the collective power to address what makes it so hard to do our jobs — inadequate funding and resources, ever-changing and additional requirements of us, paychecks that don’t pay the bills, and an inequitable school system.
But even in a year like this, our union — JESPA and the Colorado Education Association — have had some big wins, including:
- Increasing starting pay ranges from $12.50 per hour to $15.00 hour, and achieving raises of up to 30%.
- Job Security – protecting worker from layoffs and furloughs during the pandemic
- Standing up for our community – increased access to school food during school closures by demanding the district reopen more school kitchens and use school buses to deliver food to highly impacted and food insecure neighborhood.
There’s no better time to JOIN JESPA. Starting April 20th, our Early Enrollment Membership offers eligible potential members the ability to access the benefits of union membership at no cost, excluding legal representation, without paying dues until the September 30th paycheck
