Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Communications and Program Assistant to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in maintaining effective communication channels, managing member inquiries, assisting with various programs and initiatives, and organizing membership efforts. If you are a proactive individual with a passion for communication, member engagement, organizing, and community partnerships, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in drafting, editing, and coordinating content for newsletters, website updates, and social media platforms.
  2. Manage and respond to member inquiries, questions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging and informative materials that resonate with our diverse membership.
  4. Update and maintain the organization’s website with accurate and relevant information.
  5. Monitor social media channels and engage with followers, fostering a sense of community and interaction.
  6. Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, and programs that benefit our members.
  7. Conduct site visits to different school locations, engaging with members to understand their needs and concerns.
  8. Organize and facilitate meetings and one-on-one conversations with members to build relationships and gather feedback.
  9. Collaborate with community partners to amplify our efforts and create mutually beneficial relationships.
  10. Assist in data collection, entry, and analysis to improve communication strategies and member engagement.
  11. Attend team meetings and provide input on communication strategies and member engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  3. Proficiency in using various social media platforms and content management systems.
  4. Customer-service oriented mindset with the ability to interact professionally with members.
  5. Basic understanding of graphic design and email marketing tools is a plus.
  6. Passion for education and commitment to the goals of JESPA.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Flexible schedule with the availability to work 20-30 hrs per week.

Compensation: Starting wage is $25 per hour depending on experience plus insurance stipend of 284.50 per month.

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated Entry Level Organizer to join our team. This role will be instrumental in organizing efforts, community engagement, and supporting our mission to advance the rights of Education Support Professionals. If you are a proactive individual with a passion for organizing, member engagement, and advocacy, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with experienced organizers to plan and execute organizing campaigns.
  2. Assist in member recruitment and engagement initiatives.
  3. Engage with members to understand their needs and concerns.
  4. Conduct outreach to potential members and community partners.
  5. Assist in organizing events, workshops, and meetings.
  6. Provide administrative support for organizing efforts.
  7. Collect and analyze data to enhance organizing strategies.
  8. Attend team meetings and contribute to campaign planning.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  3. Passion for education and commitment to the goals of JESPA, and some familiarity with issues affecting ESPs (Education Support Professionals).
  4. Basic knowledge of labor/community organizing or related fields.
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate organizing activities.
  7. Basic computer skills and proficiency in social media platforms.
  8. Willingness to learn and adapt to organizing best practices.
  9. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  10. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework.
  2. Spanish language proficiency.
  3. Knowledge of organizing principles and campaign planning.
  4. Basic understanding of database management, Microsoft office,
  5. Understanding of education policy and collective bargaining.

Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position starting at $45,000 plus benefits.
