While we had several great wins with new contract language and wage schedules, the district fought many of the transformative changes we had advocated for, including vital issues such as livable wages, adequate staffing, improved health benefits, and an end to outsourcing. While we feel the weight of this disappointment, it only fuels our resolve to fight harder for the rights and demands that remain unmet.
The JESPA General Membership meeting will be held on Thursday, June 22nd. At this meeting, we will review the tentative agreement reached in bargaining and open for ratification.
We will also hold a bargaining debrief and strategy/planning session prior to the General Membership meeting. This debrief will be to review this year’s bargaining as a whole and to help establish our next steps.

On Thursday the JESPA Bargaining team met with the district to exchange bargaining proposals and share our vision for thriving schools. After multiple surveys and an in person bargaining workshop, the JESPA team brought the membership’s top priorities to the table: Staffing, Benefits and Wages.
